Well hello my loves, we are here today talking about a huge trend and that is the renowned skate brand . . . Supreme. Supreme has shown up on the likes of every single rapper, blogger, model and any all around cool kid let alone actual professional skater and their groupies and followers. Are you with me now? If you are not than think about those plain white tshirts with a red box logo (if it’s the OG print) that says Supreme in the middle in bold white font. The brand came around in the 1990s as a more upscale skate brand and quickly became taken on by hip hop culture in the late 90s. Today we see Supreme on anyone in the fashion know-how and recently has become incredibly popular with the resurgence of the streetwear trend.
Most recently Supreme has been doing many collaborations with world renowned brands such as, most notably, Louis Vuitton. When the Louis Vuitton collaboration dropped on the runways at men’s fashion week FW’17 all of the fashion community was both stunned, in awe and trying to figure out how to get on the waitlist as soon as possible. But before all the hubbub could die down Supreme announced another collaboration with one of the most classic sportswear brands, that being Lacoste! They went full out with varsity sweaters to Harrington jackets the street wear brand had mixed fully with the preppy classic’s of Lacoste. The complete line flew off of the shelves (the digital shelves, duh) with lurkers waiting in the wind to re-sell everything on ebay. And that is where I swung in and grabbed myself a varsity sweater before they had even shipped! I just adore the classic mixed with the trendy of the collaboration and of varsity sweaters which I have a soft spot for.
And now for all of the important things . . . My Look! I paired this Supreme x Lacoste heavenly classic varsity sweater with my ever so trusted and essential GRLFRND denim skirt tucked in. I can’t get enough of these varsity sweaters or cricket sweaters as my love calls them. I adore the old age Ivy League or sort of Old English feel of the sweaters and the idea that they can easily be brought back to life with just a little bit of styling. I would say a varsity sweater is a must have for every fall wardrobe this year (just like they were last year). So, back to my styling. I styled my sweater tucked into to my favorite denim skirt and paired this with a GG Gucci Marmont belt to cinch my waist so that the look didn’t get too frumpy looking or without shape. Next I decided to go full blown extra and since the varsity sweater was already Gucci colors scheme I went for full on Gucci overload. I added on my Gucci stud and pearl sneakers and a red Gucci shoulder bag then I was Gucci-ied out and all ready and set to go sport my varsity sweater all of town.
