Even though the jet lag was hitting us hard, and for some reason also rubbing off on Fie as well, we were not going to let our zombie like state ruin our chance to get out in the city. Although with the way we were feeling it would have been great for us to just relax on a mattress like the ones they have somewhere like Leesa. However, we didn’t give up that easily. Lucky enough that during this time of the year in Copenhagen the sun stays out until about 10pm and still rises bright and early so the days seem long as can be and make us feel like we have much more of a chance to get a lot done with our days. You don’t end up heading back to the hotel you’re staying in (like the d’angleterre hotel) until so much later. It also helps that with a little bit of jetlag we tend to wake up A LOT earlier than we generally would, especially when on Holiday. One day I slept until 9am and fully thought I had slept in, you would’ve thought I had really slept until 2pm! Anyway, back on topic we got up and out to explore some of the city on this day and we wanted to get in some major shopping since we were in the heart of city and temptation was alllllll around us. It’s the end of the Summer and we can’t let the blues of summer being over take away from the memories we have left to make before it’s too late (and yes, I know…I’m a poet and I didn’t even know it). My “summer” is nowhere near over and I have many more cities to attend, did I mention that London and Paris are next!?
On this day it was nice enough outside, meaning it didn’t feel like Los Angeles Winter, that I broke out my new holy grail closet edition. I have never been able to find a pair of denim shorts that I felt comfortable and confident in. In fact I believe one of my very first blog posts was talking about the pros and cons of the revival of denim cutoffs. But that magical day comes along in every girls life eventually where she finds the perfect pair of denim shorts. That pair that makes your bum look like the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow and don’t make your thighs look like two sausages squeezed into an extra small casing. I was so happy I could pull them out this day in the city and show off my stems since it is Summer after all! I paired my shorts with my Saint Laurent Yeah Baby t-shirt and longline nude blazer from Zara. Instead of your run of the mill sneakers I went for my AH-Mazing Stella McCartney platforms that just never ever seem to let me down. It was the perfect combination of my Californian roots with a little Scandinavian flair.
