Vroom Vroom and start your engines, is what I feel like I should be saying in my new checker/star/striped/race star esc skirt! A little while ago I wrote a post about my growing obsession with checker print and at that time I was headed in a more 60s sort of mod maybe even 90s emulation of Twiggy or some groovy gal but now I am exploring an entirely different side of the trend with this pattern. Recently “racing” ,and by this I mean of cars not horses, checker print and other race car vibe garments have been coming out of the woodworks. I’m sure you’ve seen street style stars wearing vintage race car logo leather jackets and if you keep up with the runways than you may have noticed that mega fashion houses such as Givenchy, Marc Jacobs and trendy brands like Vetements are jumping on this trend. It has a sort of semi casual cool girl vibe but in an incredibly dressed up way, after all you don’t wear decked out red and white leather jackets everyday…okay well I would but not everyone is willing to make such a bold statement on the regular. I gues that’s just how much I value my leather clothes! While I love leather in white, it can be an absolute pain in the ass to keep clean sometimes. So if you like white leather as much as I do, you may want to check out a guide on how to take care of white leather so that you are never hesitant of buying yourself another white leather item. What else I love about this outfit is that the racing stigma of daisy dukes and plastic cups of beer may be headed right out the window now that this sport is finally making its appearance at fashion week.
