Hello my lovely readers! I am back with an amazing post today for you, well mostly an amazing experience but I think that the post captures the essence pretty well. Despite the fact that I had a sprained ankle me and my friends packed up a picnic, got in the car and headed to Antelope Valley. I am sure you’ve seen photos of the pure bursts of orange flowers on some form of social media. And it is no joke, as soon as we drove over the hill after about an hour and 45 minutes drive out of the city we could see sprawling fields of orange poppies. There is quite nothing like it to be honest and as city girls we were in utter amazement at the beauty nature portrays each year in the Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve. Since my ankle (which I rolled while sacrificing comfort in gorgeous platform boots) was pretty swollen I stayed on the picnic blanket and enjoyed some brie and french bread most of the time. Obviously I couldn’t help but limp around a little bit to check out my surroundings and take in the fresh air.
My look for our roadtrip adventure out to the poppy fields fit flawlessly. I was not only comfortable in my Free People Tunic but I felt it fit with the picnic sort of “one with nature” vibe. lol. To go with my easy breezy tunic I wore some Free People clogs (my first pair of clogs) that I could easily slide on and off while lounging on the picnic blanket and a suede and studded little satchel, also from Free People. Free People has always been a go to for a more bohemian chic look and it terms of finding stylish ensembles that are comfortable, not to mention PERFECT for festival season, than Free People is the absolute spot to go. It’s not always easy to look stylish and yet still be comfortable as we fashion-obsessed know. So turn on my perfect picnic playlist at the bottom of this post and get yourself in the mood. If you’re in the Southern California area I highly recommend taking a day and making the drive with some people you can share a drink and laugh with in the poppy fields. If you aren’t in SoCal than I challenge you anyway to pack up a picnic and spend an afternoon in the fresh air and find yourself some flowers.
