There is nothing like a rare day with not much to do but wonder throughout a foreign land and take in all the culture that it has to offer. If you aren’t tired of me posting about my love of the French countryside then good because we’ve still got a few more posts coming (and that’s just this time around). As you may know my now I have spent some time in the countryside of France with my love eating too much cheese, listening to Brigitte Bardot, Edith Piaf and Jane Birkin songs on repeat, and laying about in a daisy field here and there as well. On this day however my need for EXTRA-NESS or basically to play dress up was getting overdue and I needed a fix asap. So my love and I got dressed up and hopped our way into town where we wandered about and tried to embrace being truly French (did I mention neither of us speak French). We wandered around, before stopping for a glass of champagne of course, and took a peek at all that the little town of Empure has to offer.
For my little extra look on this day of playing French dress up I wore a cut out shoulder pin striped dress from Pixie Market. Believe it or not I actually received this dress for Christmas and just got around to wearing it over the summer (typical Daphne). I paired the dress with a little round Chanel belt and a houndstooth J.W. Anderson jacket to mix up the prints. While pinstripes with houndstooth sounds quite harsh the mixing of the prints actually worked quite well as these two patterns are both quite subdued and neither one is harsh or abrasive. For shoes I wore my velvet bow toe Manolo Blahnik’s and added then my classic Chanel flap bag. Last but not least because it just simply isn’t a game of dress up without some Miu Miu sunnies I wore this purple embellished pair as the finishing touch. And that was that another perfectly lovely day spent lounging in the beautiful countryside of France.
