Custo Barcelona | Fall 2016 Runway Show
The Custo Barcelona show was one of the largest collections that I saw showing at NYFW. I absolutely adore the nod to a more mod and retro decade that the designers took for the collection. It was filled with patent leather ombres, purples and a textured pony hair cheetah prints that showed up on both the menswear and womenswear. Oh yes there was menswear too with some quite cute male models to add to the stunning collection. Another key accessory of the collection was the reprisal of Geek Glasses so pull out your oversized prada frames and embrace your inner Jenna Lyons cuz dork glasses are back. I’m sure Zooey Deschanel is ecstatic!
Noon By Noor | Fall 2016 Runway Show
From all the way around the world to NYFW Noon by Noor collaborated with Kopenhaven Fur for five unique style incorporated throughout the collection. I happened to have attended a Kopenhagen Fur show previously during Copenhagen Fashion Week and I can’t wait to get my paws on one of their Noon By Noor creations. Noon By Noor is known for being modern and effortless with a focus on striking prints and intricate embellishments. It’s luxurious but playful, it’s understated yet incredibly chic, I couldn’t even decide which look was my favorite from the show.
Lela Rose | Fall 2016 Runway Show
I really enjoyed the Lela Rose runway show, especially the parts where it was adorned in gold glitter and sequins. This was an especially exciting show as for the first time ever three exclusive looks from runway were available immediately for purchase on lelarose.com. The curated looks represent three of the most important pieces from the show and include a moss green embossed gazar cloche sleeve top and pencil skirt, an indigo geometric fil coupé shirtwaist dress and a black double crêpe and organza off the shoulder top and black/white optic weave circle skirt. The feminine edge of the Lela Rose collection was very alluring to me with its classic silhouettes, mixing of prints and of course perfect show pairings I was sold on the Lela Rose collection at New York Fashion Week this year.
Libertine | Fall 2016 Runway Show
I became really excited for the Libertine runway show after I ran into the collection while browsing at Bergdorf Goodman’s during some off time. I tried on a gorgeous coat practically covered in rhinestones and baby blue dyed fur. So needless to say I knew the show would be very exciting since the entire collection that I had previewed was covered in elaborate designs of rhinestones, interesting color pairings and bright fur collars for even the coldest of New York winter nights. To make the show even better, other than the fact that as a parting gift we got some Libertine stickers in our gift bags, the show ended with a very Chanel esque revolution with the models dancing through the aisles holding picket signs while dance music blasted in the halls.
