Well we can all say that it is officially spring, the season that lasts a little too long as we yearn for summer and yet can’t seem to come soon enough as we are all tired of winter. It is time to embrace your inner flower child in whatever way you see fit and put on a pretty sun dress and find yourself a secret garden full of pastel petals and hopefully a tea party or two. I had the pleasure of taking a visit to one of my favorite flower child fairytale gardens recently at the Bel Air Hotel. As I have mentioned before, if you are a frequent reader of To Style, With Love, The Bel Air Hotel is one of my favorite little LA secret getaways that not many tourists or non locals will have the likes of even knowing about its existence. However, for us locals taking a drive up past the Bel Air gates and into the secret haunt it is the absolute most perfect staycation or afternoon getaway spot (did I mention the brunch is to die for, warning: wear stretchy pants or a flowy dress).
For my flower child moment this past sunny Sunday afternoon I wore a new dress, a purple wrap dress, that I picked up recently at a Reformation sample sale they had here in LA’s Culver City area. Oh my oh my I do have a soft spot for a good sample sale here and there, did I mention my Manolo Blahnik’s I got 80% OFF!!!!!!! at a sample sale in nyc recently, but I am a huge fan of Reformation just like most of us are and I took the opportunity to pick up 1 or 2…okay I got 6 perfect sundresses for the season! It’s normally really difficult to find long sleeve dresses but this year, I’ve got 6 in my wardrobe ready to be worn! I’ve also seen a few dresses online which I’m very tempted to buy but I think I’ve got enough now. I paired my little purple frock with black chunky heeled prada sandals that have lasted me through thick and thin for years now and one of my favorite statement clutches by Chanel. In case you weren’t aware, yes, 5 x 5 does equal the beloved and coveted CC. I was having an off hair day so I clipped in my faux bang, threw my hair up into a messy bun and totally transformed my look. To complement the bun I think a dangly earring is always the way to go and the Luv Aj cross hoops are a fashion-girl must. Last but not least to go for gold I wore my Vida Kush layered rose gold necklace (all the stylishness of three necklaces with the easiness of one) and I had myself a flower child free to dance and frolic in the sun moment. So have no fear because spring time is here!
