As I am sure many of you have noticed I have been posting quite a lot from Washington, D.C. recently instead of the usual home base of Los Angeles. This is because I have taken a huge leap and made a major life change. I am now a freshman at Georgetown University! I always knew that I wanted to go to college and Georgetown was always on my list not just because it is an incredible school in a beautiful city but also because my oldest sister attended here and over the years I simply fell in love with the place. It was a huge decision for me to choose to live part time away from my beautiful home of Los Angeles but in the end it felt right for me. I wanted something new, I wanted an adventure and a chance to grow and live outside of my comfort zone and man am I ever! Even though at times it’s scary and I am so nostalgic for the never ending summer on my beloved west coast I am experiencing so many new and wonderful things out here living a New England inspired time. Did I mention that for the first time in my life I am going to experience a real fall and winter! Oh yea that means I finally get to buy coats and sweaters that have a purpose (here I come Moncler). Not going to lie that was definitely a pro on my list for coming here. Ugh the boots and scarfs, don’t even get me started — that is a whole other post in itself.
Don’t for a second think that this means less of To Style, With Love. If anything right now you lovely babies are my support network and my best friends helping me adjust to a huge change and I couldn’t possibly make it through without all of you right by my side. Even though I am living in a dorm right now and trying to figure out this whole dressing for weather (tips wanted PLEASE leave me comments!) thing I am more excited than ever to continue to grow To Style, With Love and share my journey of being a materialistic, label obsessed, fashion loving, credit card burning gal. So get ready for a whole new adventure in a city across the country. We’ve got a lot to do and a ton to see so let’s get started. And where better or more iconic to start than the Capital Building, am I right?
Coming to a new city can mean coming to terms with an entirely new look, especially at college. While other girls may be walking to class in their sweats and way too much Georgetown apparel I am still clad in Miu Miu pointed toe flats, a Realisation Par Wrap Dress and of course just for school I needed an E X T R A bag so I got my hands on a Chanel Canvas Deauville Tote bag (Pics to come soon). You can take the girl away from Los Angeles but you can never take her Extra-ness away. Apparently I am known as “the girl who always wears Chanel” a source tells me. I mean hey, I don’t think that is such a bad nickname!
For my look today I wore this plaid lace up mini dress that I found as a gem at Urban Outfitters! I went into the Urban on M street while doing some retail therapy (college is stressful) and saw this beauty and new that she had to be mine. I paired the look with a black beret that I bought in Paris as I am super into hats with looks right now and these AH-MAZING booties from public Desire. You all know that I have a major crush on anything with Gingham print so when I saw these patent leather babies I simply had no choice but to get them, sorry there just wasn’t any other option. Last but certainly not least I paired my new Prada Cahier bag with the look for a touch of gold and matched three gold chokers to it. <a moment of appreciation for this beauty of a handbag> And that was that, a little french touch, some plaid to play up the whole New England preppy thing, a gorgeous new bag and what more does a girl need in a look. Maybe just my beautiful English boy but that will have to wait until next time ;)
