Good morning, afternoon or night my internet besties! I am here with the next part of my travel diary for you today as I am now posting all of my posts that I have from England! You may or may not know that England is where my love hales from so I am often making a trip across the pond to visit him and take in all that the United Kingdom has to offer. On this day of our summer travels we decided to take a drive about an hour or so outside of London, towards to the sea and to the well known town of Brighton. I myself had never made the journey south to see the lanes, the pier and all of the fun knick knacks that lie around every single corner. Brighton is the hipster haven that is exactly what you would expect. The streets are lined with aesthetically pleasing cafe’s and high end stores in shabby chic store fronts to trick the eye and fit in with the atmosphere. We went for a stroll through the famous Brighton Lanes and admired all of the quirky architecture, interesting vintage shops to rummage through and amazing street art (which I of course stopped for pictures at). But, I wanted to have the true tourist girl experience and so we hit the pier for Candy Floss and Boardwalk games! We took a stroll down the entire pier and took in all of the goodies to eat and kids out on a fun summer’s day just taking in the fresh sea air (and hoping the boardwalk doesn’t fall, I know I know but, I can’t help myself :P). We stopped for some Candy Floss as the brits call it, you may know it as Cotton Candy if you’re from the states like me. I couldn’t resist all of the sugary treats along the way from mini donuts, to custom made milkshakes and even candied apples. I even took a peek through one of those old fashioned big, huge binoculars they have on the pier. After all of the excitement my love and I took a stop in some of the ever so classic blue and white striped deck chairs that the pier is famous for and gazing off into the sunset before the day was done.
I went for a very Daphne casual look on the day we spent in Brighton. I paired a little Topshop t-shirt that I picked up in london tied to the side to give it a less “basic tee” look. The t-shirt is super cute embellished with embroidery on the front that says Sweet Talk and the best part is the little cherry patch on one of the sleeves side. I paired my t-shirt with my favorite and essential denim mini skirt by GRLFRND. I am obsessed with this skirt and probably wear it about once a week, I would highly recommend picking one up as a nice essential and staple for your closet from Revolve, here. With a denim mini skirt this summer you can make anything look incredibly chic and put together. I went for another basic closet essential and styled the look with my Adidas Originals. Now, because its me and you know we need this look to have some E X T R A qualities in it I wore my Crap Eyewear bright red cateye sunnies and my YSL lipstick crossbody bag. Bags like this that are usually worn as an evening bag are great to add to a casual outfit to spruce it up a bit. Last but not least I grabbed my essential jewelry and my new Daniel Wellington classic and I was all ready to go have a day of touristy fun!
