Come on ladies, it’s time to get groovy! For my look today I wanted to play around with some things, after all fashion is one life long game of dressup and that means that you are meant to have fun! I’ve always been a fan of very mod fashion, reposting pictures of Brigitte Bardot and Jackie O on my Tumblr or We Heart It. As we all know fashion repeats itself in every decade so not only did I want to experiment with a mod look today, I wanted to experiment with a 90s take on a mod look and I call it The Go Go Girl. Oh yea, I went there, I went there so much as to even get a little bump in my hair and clip in some faux bangs (that I am OBSESSED with). A modern take on a 90s Go Go Girl ready to jump in a cage and soar above a discotech waving my arms in the air and do The Jerk. You all may be taken back by my idea of mixing so many eras and fads all at once but, I really think I am on to something with this and I hope that my inspiration boards can help you get into the go go girl spirit as well. Or at least find your most 90s mod self!
For my go go girl groovy getup I paired a vintage Fendi checkered blouse (that I found as an AH-MAZING score on ebay) with my favorite and ever so versatile patent leather mini skirt by Alice + Olivia. I felt the skirt had just enough pop but not too much to overwhelm the look or outshadow my brilliant top. Obviously to pay an homage to the go go boot I needed some amazing platforms and Public Desire never ever fails me. Don’t forget the perfectly mod mustang sunnies from Acne, an over the top extra extra read all about it thick rhinestone choker and of course a little Gucci in the form of a backpack….and voila you’ve got yourself a very mod 90s girl! Let me know your thoughts on this hybrid of trends by leaving me a comment below!
