Hello my lovelies! We are more than half way through the week and I have been a very very busy girl so I will be doing my best to try and update you all a little more each day on my travel diaries. Today’s look is coming to you straight from Milan and my best attempt at trying to personify my best La Dolce Vita. On another “Italian Lifestyle” day, aka trying to be as chill as our uptight bums could be, we took a stroll in the park adjacent to our apartment. I have probably never spent so much time in park in my life #CityGirl but in the Italian spirit something about, we’ll say the Central Park of Milan, Parco Sempione seemed to draw us in for nearly a daily walk as it was L I T E R A L L Y right outside of our doorsteps. It was really quite picturesque you see the moment we arrived the first day in Milan as our car was dropping us off at the apartment the first thing I saw of the city was the lit up Arco Della Pace at the end of our street. With that golden glow coming off of the Archway my heart was warmed with what I knew would be amazing adventures to come that week. If you can take the time for a late afternoon’s stroll (hopefully around sunset) walk through the Parco Sempione from the Castello Sforzesco straight through to the Arco Della Pace, you can’t miss it I promise. My love and I packed ourselves a picnic with deliciously fresh bites from the local market around the corner and headed to the park through the arch to take in the views and the Italian summer air.
The day before my love and I made our way to Via Monte Napoleone, uhm duh! One of the most famous shopping streets in the world in a fashion capital of the world, I hope you didn’t think that I was going to miss this street. I honestly went on a search for Dior but very very sadly I struck out on the J’Adior train (they literally didn’t have anything in Paris, Milan or London) so I wandered, pouting…I know I know but hey I had been waiting months and skipped buying other things to go a see if I could find these dream items and continuously had my hopes struck down time and time again, it was a bummer. I pouted my way down the street until I got to gucci which had a display I could not ignore as it was basically my home decor dream and obviously when my love said do you want to go in Gucci I said U H M Y-A-H-H-H. We wandered around, I tried on the Disco Hollywood sunglasses before I realised there was a downstairs wonderland part of the store with the wardrobe that I could only compare to what I imagine Heaven to be like and of course the shoe salon. After my love tore me away from the jacket THAT I WILL HAVE ONE DAY! I mean come on it was only 12k :( a girl can dream right, I found my self in the shoe section and faced with a pair of shoes that have been on my wishlist for a very long time. To cheer myself up I said” Hey! I’ll try them on” and they said “How great this is the last pair in your size, we always sell out immediately, we only got them in yesterday!” And with the blink of an eye I was checking out with my new Gucci Princetown loafers. Isn’t that how most purchases go down? Yes, no? Are you as impulsive as I am? Leave me a comment below and tell me about your shopping strategies! But I have to say these have been so so worth their worth! After I bought these I wore them almost every day on our trip to both walk around, to go to dinner or to run to get some ice cream. These are the most versatile shoes to be dressed up or down, day or night you simply can’t go wrong. I had also worried about them being a more Fall/Winter shoe but I am completely past that. I have been wearing them all summer and they work perfectly with shorts, skirts etc. Throw things up in the air, who says fur is only for the Fall because Gucci doesn’t! If you are looking at purchasing these, definitely go and try them on. I would recommend these slippers 10/10.
Now as I always say, onto the really important stuff…..my look! I mentioned in a previous post that when I travel to new places I like to embody the lifestyle or attitude that I want to lead while I am in that place. My looks in Milan were inspired by classic Italian fashion icons such as Sofia Loren and It Girls like Patricia Manfield or Gilda Ambrosio. These types of Italian ladies always seem to have an effortlessly sexy and cool factor about them. They always have understated yet classic and natural makeup with one dominant feature such as a red lip, as I featured here, or a cat eye which is known as Sofia Loren’s classic look. My dress already screamed wear me in Italy with not only the print and references to classic mod looks but also the fact that For Love And Lemons Spring ’17 lookbook was completely styled like one little Italian dream, think those Fiat commercials and you’re Catrinel Menghia (google it, you will completely understand). With this look as I stated before I wore a bold and deep red lip as my statement of the look with casual hair up in a bun with a few fly aways. I accessorized with lots of GOLD! I feel that gold gives a very retro and yet classic look so I layered up on the choker, a huge huge trend right now that I am so on board with. Not to be finished with only some chokers, oh no, you all know I am far too extra for that nonsense and so I wore my new Luv Aj heart shaped hoop earrings that I am in LOVEEEE with. How no one else has done heart hoops before I have no clue, what a genius idea, I simply had no choice but to buy them. I especially loved showing them off by putting my hair up for all to see. Annnd of course, last but not least, the new fluffy elephants in the room…my brand spankin new Gucci Princetown Fur slippers (finally). A little more gucci aka my Dionysus bag and I was ready for La Dolce Vita.
