What a beautiful day it is in London, at least it was when I shot this look a little bit ago! I am personally one of those people who adores grey weather, one of those odd people out who is so jaded by living in sunny California that I cherish grey and or rainy day as something so special because I never get to experience it. Nothing makes me happier than being cozy in bed with a hot apple cider while in pours down raining outside, oohh I guess I am getting fall fever already (as I usually do every year around this time)! Anyway, back to my beautiful day in London. On this day it was my goal to make it to a place I had seen on Instagram many many times and I was determined to pop my way into Peggy Porschen’s Bakery to have some cake, tea and ,D-U-H, to take 10 million photos. I accomplished my goal and not so much to our surprise the cakes and tea were as yummy as the bakery is aesthetically pleasing! Did I mention that we even went back for more the day we left london and had cake for lunch! The little bakery is pink, posh and spares absolutely no detail to their adorable aesthetic of the cafe. We ordered everything on the menu from pink champagne to pink iced to to pink cake (do you think I like pink?). I myself had the Victoria Sponge Cake (the pink one obviously) and my love had himself some delicious chocolate cake that I snuck a few bites of too. We were thoroughly impressed and I would highly recommend a visit if you find yourself in London, Peggy Porschen’s Bakery is a MUST!
After we ate a little too much cute cake and had a bit too much pink champagne we decided to walk to one of the most photo worthy spots in all of London . . . Westminster and Westminster Bridge. My love and I had a stroll and made our way down the river Thames and took in all of the sights including Big Ben, 10 Downing Street, Parliament and Westminster Abbey. You can solidly make the rounds of the most important landmarks the United Kingdom has to offer in a small loop around Westminster, having yourself quite an eventful day.
Sometimes when planning a look everything can start with just one piece. For this look it was obviously the shoes! These pink rhinestone and pearl embellished Miu Miu satin pumps are pretty much my favorite thing in my entire closet and I plan on cherishing them for my entire life. They remind me of Elle Woods and rolling up to harvard in an all pink outfit, Oh or perhaps in the 2nd Legally Blonde they remind me of her wedding shoes. Yes, that’s it, these are Elle Woods worthy wedding shoes haha. The point is that these bad boys are over the top E X T R A just the way that I like it and I can thank my love for purchasing them for me as a Christmas gift on my last trip to London near the holidays. This is where the look began. I wanted something simple and classic to let the shoes have their moment so I paired them a plain white Acne button down tied at the stomach in a bow knot. For the bottoms just my favorite pair of jeans with a cropped uneven hem. I adore hems like this and I am so glad everyone is inhabiting the trend that I am pretty sure was started by Vetements and is now being utilized by brands everywhere from Zara to Balenciaga. Next I grabbed my little square Gucci Dionysus nude bag and round ray ban sunnies to complete my classically chic look. Then I was all ready for a day of touristy fun and lots of pink cake to match my shoes of course.
