Hello Loves, Hello Darlings! It’s me Daphne back out to travel and coming to you all from London England. The amazing little flat that we have been staying at in Kensington is perfect in every way, except for the whole internet part as it’s wifi is NOT what I am accustomed to. So I beg of your forgiveness in being absent again. I almost wish I had booked to stay at the Holiday Inn hotel in Kensington since a few of my friends have stayed there and they all tell me how good it is. Who knows, maybe I might stay in a hotel next time! It has been the most trying chore to simple blog as I usually do everyday. Today’s post is some filled with some shots that I took on my first day out in London on which we not only took on the London Zoo but also one of my must see destinations, Abbey Road. For those of you who follow along with me on Spotify, Soundcloud or on the music section of To Style, With Love you may know that I have a very strong affinity for classic music and especially The Beatles. I wanted to go to the place where so much magic happened and music history was made. It may be just a road with a recording studio on it but when you really think about all that’s happened there you can truly feel the special presence that the world has placed down on Abbey Road. Yes, of course we signed the wall and got a few token crossing Abbey Road pictures it wouldn’t be a visit to the studios if we didn’t. I have some photos of me with my mom of when I was about 3 years old signing the wall and crossing the road, I need to try and dig them up once I get back home so I can share with you all how we re-created the moment. After a long day walking the city we took to one of the best stores in the city, Harvey Nichols, for starters and cocktails in their cute little 5th floor bar before heading out for dinner and a night on the town. Day 1 in London couldn’t have been any more special, magical in fact.
London is just an amazing place for the culture and art that I wanted to spend even longer taking it all in. I knew there was so much more that I wanted to see and so many more places I wanted to explore. After this busy day, I got straight onto the girls group chat and told them my plans of a road trip around the UK. They all thought it was a great idea. So now we have started planning where we want to go and what we want to see. As only a few of us can drive but don’t have our own cars, we thought it would be best to look into hiring a vehicle (preferably a van) and taking it from there. We also looked into getting insurance, which we found out that van insurance policy prices can hugely vary. That didn’t put us off though, as we knew it was essential and what we needed to make this trip a reality. I cannot wait for the rest of fashion week and for this girl’s road trip to become a reality. Being able to explore will be a dream come true for us all. Even though we’re from the UK, it will be as exciting as it will be for someone from a foreign country coming over to visit London for the first time!
