Welcome To Versailles
Oh Versailles, for many it has a different sort of air whether it’s the French Revolution or the idea of opulence and decadence at it’s most extravagant. For me it is always Marie Antoinette and specifically I can’t ever seem to get the score from Sophia Coppola’s movie adaptation of her life out of my head when it comes to this grand palace. I hear The Strokes and The Radio Department playing early 2000s punk and imagine ladies covered in pastels from head to toe eating pretty pink pastries. I know this is a romanticised version of all that really went down at Versailles and in Marie Antoinette’s life. But it brings the place to life in a way you can vividly imagine and immerse yourself in.
I felt it only fitting that when visiting Versailles I too covered myself in pastel pink and delicate little bows just to really fulfill the daydream. I wore this Chanel dress and Jacket set I had been coveting for just the perfect occasion so obviously it got packed and came along wit me on my trip to Paris. I paired the set with my gold Gucci loafers (both stylish and easy to walk around the palace grounds in) and my classic black Chanel Flap Bag. If you are visiting Paris I highly recommend the 30 minute drive outside of the city to the Chateau de Versailles. It’s beauty is magnificent and the grounds expanding. It’s the perfect place to spend a day exploring and immersing yourself in history.
